Ms. Diana Nelson, Forestville Academy (DianaNelson@forestvilleusd.org) These 7/8 courses are designed to embed academic skills to communicate and articulate through the written and spoken word, and to analyze and appreciate literature. Students learn the writing process from brainstorming to final copy of an essay and the purpose of drafts; students see writing as a “work in progress” that can always be improved upon. So, process is emphasized. Students study basic research paper formatting and content, read age-appropriate literature and expository text to study it more closely and all coursework is aligned with the California Standards based framework.
